Swire Energy Services operate from two custom built facilities in Aberdeen, ideally located for the harbour area that acts as the logistical gateway to the North Sea.

Out-with Aberdeen, we have operating bases in Peterhead, Great Yarmouth and Heysham which are key locations to support the UK offshore industry.

Our site at Altens East is the main receipt and dispatch point for our container, skip, basket and tank rental fleet’ On this site there is also a fully equipped wash bay as well as welding, blasting, and repair facility allowing us to carry out all levels of maintenance on our units’.

The UK and Group Head Office is also based in Aberdeen, and it is from here that we can call upon the expertise of our in-house design and engineering teams, allowing us to propose and produce DNV products in line with customer requirements.

Gary joined Swire Energy Services in Singapore in 2012 and has held various positions across the Commercial function in Asia Pacific, before moving into Senior Management positions in the UK, and most recently being promoted to General Manager and Director for the UK. Prior to his time at SES, Gary has wide experience in various Sales, Marketing and Business Development across the UK and APAC. Gary holds National Certificates and Diplomas in Mechanical Engineering and Communications and has a First-Class Honours Degree from Derby University in Business Management. In 2019, Gary embarked on an MBA with Heriot Watt University, as well as participating in several Swire management training programs in Singapore and Hong Kong, Operational Leadership Development Program (OLDP) and Finance respectively. In his spare time, Gary likes running, walking, travelling, and supporting his children’s football and gymnastics.

Diane Brands joined Swire Energy Services in March 2013 as a hire controller (customer service coordinator) during this time Diane gained a great deal of knowledge and experience within the rental side of the business whilst building relationships with our key customers. In December 2016 Diane took on the role of Customer Services Manager overseeing customer service and invoicing activities whilst maintaining proactive contact with all our customers. As Swire Energy Services looked to update their current ERP system Diane was seconded on to the role of Commercial Process Lead where she developed end to end business scenarios to help build, test and deliver the new ERP system across the North Sea. On the completion of the ERP roll out Diane returned to her role as Customer Service Manager.

Elaine Smith joined Swire Energy Services in Jan 2009 with extensive experience in Customer Service. Elaine’s role is Senior Customer Services Co-ordinator Initially joining the business as a Hire Controller, Elaine has helped assisted both our new and longstanding customers with their requirements over the year. Elaine is extremely knowledgeable of our products, services and our hire fleet within the UK.

Heysham Base

Mick joined Swire Energy Services at our Heysham base 32 years ago, at this time the only service provided was the hire of CCU’s. Mick has seen Swire grow from strength to strength and been at the forefront of many changes over the decades. Mick’s knowledge and passion for the organisation has allowed him to build up the Heysham base which now provides numerous services such as testing and inspection, recertification and hire and supply of lifting equipment to name a few. Mick’s approach embodies the vision of being the easiest company to work with and Mick team are seen as one of the go to teams in Heysham to get jobs done whatever the size. Mick has also developed the offering outwith Oil and Gas and his team have developed testing and inspection services for the offshore wind market and even supported a client who was building frames for one of the nightingale hospitals during the Covid-19 outbreak in early 2020. Mick’s innovative approach has seen him develop initiatives and procedures which have been implemented across other Swire bases, demonstrating the value Mick adds to the company. As Base Manager Mick is responsible for the day to day operation of Swire’s facilities in Heysham and Great Yarmouth and works with our strategic partners in Holland. Some of his duties include prioritising requirements and maintaining a good service to customers, quality management, HSE and environmental. Mick’s commitment to Swire sees him hoping to expand Heysham into more onshore locations and further offshore windfarm work. Mick’s mission is to try and grow the Great Yarmouth base, recreating the same service culture as Heysham. He is exploring different options to ensure efficiency and customer excellence which ensures Swire remain the easiest company to work with.

Swire Energy Services supports the Dutch offshore market through our partners based in Den Helder and Beverwijk.

Our extensive fleet of containers, baskets, tanks and skips ensures we are well positioned to support the requirements of our customers locally. We have the capability to make sure our fleet is properly maintained and all equipment is supplied fully compliant to NOGEPA standards.
