Global integrated materials and logistics management company, ASCO, has awarded a five-year contract for the provision of offshore containers and supporting services to global energy service provider Swire Energy Services (SES).
The contract will see SES further develop the 35-year relationship with ASCO, with a key focus around sustainability across UK operations. This will be the first contract in the company’s longstanding relationship that will see deliverables and KPI’s set against CO2 emissions, firmly establishing ASCO and SES’s commitment to carbon reduction across their operations.
The contract, which is due to commence in January 2022, focuses on harnessing technology combined with carbon reduction initiatives that will help drive operational efficiency while setting the cornerstone for future sustainability positions for both parties. The various initiatives will contribute towards a potential CO2 emissions reduction of 630 tonnes across the contract term.
Gary Lindsay, the newly appointed UK General Manager for Swire Energy Services, said:
“We must challenge ourselves to accept all mandates to change, when that change inherently impacts the future of our environment for the better. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to continue our longstanding relationship with ASCO, while also being able to develop a roadmap of initiatives that will support our individual and collective aspirations for a carbon neutral future, together.
"We firmly believe the contract we have defined will support both companies in achieving their carbon neutrality goals while delivering the best possible service for our customers.”
Jamie McDonald, Group Supply Chain Manager at ASCO commented:
"This contract award marks an exciting new chapter in our relationship with Swire Energy Services. I am confident it will act as a strong foundation for both organisations to pursue joint sustainability objectives, underpinned by an unerring commitment to service and safety excellence. The defined and shared targets with SES sets a benchmark that will be replicated with other strategic partners, as ASCO pursues its commitment towards a net zero future."
