Swire Energy Services Nigeria team have recently trained and certified 2 in house welders, helping them to achieve more efficient repair times and meet customer demand.
A customer in Nigeria informed the team that they had accidentally damaged the primary structure of their 10ft open top container (KH264). Typically, any damage of this nature would nullify its existing DNV certificate meaning the equipment must be re-certified by DNV – a cost both to SES and our customer.
Thankfully, two of the teams in-house welders (ThankGod Chukwu & Stephen Ebereonwu) in the SES Nigeria team have recently been assessed and certified by DNV, meaning they are now able to undertake repairs of DNV equipment primary structures. The two welders were able to successfully complete the primary structure repair and the equipment was then re-certified by DNV and put back into our active rental fleet.
This certification is a huge advantage for the internal refurbishment requirements, as being able to rely on the in-house team not only cuts down lead time, but also allows us to meet the needs of our customers who require DNV equipment repairs in Nigeria.
Eno Inyang, Commercial Manager of Nigeria & West Africa said:
"The above additional operational capability continues to solidify our stance as the premium one stop shop DNV equipment rental and services supplier in country. We are confident that this will go a long way in adding value to the daily operations of our customers."
