Swire Energy Services (SES) is delighted to share that our partner in the United Arab Emirates, Specialist Services, part of Centurion Middle East & North Africa, has successfully opened its brand new 50,000 square metre waterfront fabrication facility with a Rental & Service Centre in Musaffah, Abu Dhabi.
The launch of this state-of-the-art facility supports the national "Make it in the Emirates" initiative while developing In-Country Value (I.C.V.). The facility strengthens our partnership with Specialist Services, effective October 2023, and enhances our operational efficiencies and offering for customers in the region.
Situated in Mussafah Industrial Area, the facility is complete with a 25,000-tonne waterfront load-out capacity, open and covered fabrication spaces, sufficient storage facilities, and a dedicated office complex.
Nick Coaton, General Manager - Middle East & North Africa, commented: “Swire Energy Services would like to congratulate Specialist Services on the opening of its new facility. When we agreed to enter into a strategic partnership with Specialist Services, its commitment to investing in the United Arab Emirates, specifically Abu Dhabi, was a significant factor.
“This new facility will allow SES to not only better serve our local customers, ensuring more efficient delivery and the highest level of customer service, but also provide a number of complementary products and services which otherwise would not have been possible.
“Swire Energy Services is investing significantly in the UAE and the wider Middle East region, so it is very encouraging to have a partner who is doing the same.”
Swire Energy Services has already begun transferring an array of equipment, including long offshore baskets, from a range of our global locations to this new facility in order to meet the rising demand in the Middle East and North Africa.
This project aligns with the sustainable development of our business, and our target to be carbon neutral by 2030. SES is utilising a cost-effective and sustainable approach to the transfer and refurbishment of underutilised equipment from our global fleet to growth areas such as the Middle East & North Africa, thus avoiding the production of new equipment.
