Swire Energy Services to release new OverVu® feature alongside OTC presentation

Posted 02 May 2016

Swire Energy Services, the world’s largest supplier of cargo carrying solutions to the global energy industry, is taking part in a wireless communications and RFID technical session at this year’s OTC conference in Houston.

Nick Coaton, Swire Energy Services’ Track and Trace Solutions General Manager, is discussing operational efficiency gains from automated equipment tracking in oil and gas supply chains at the Wireless Communication and Radio Frequency Identifications Technologies Technical Session on Wednesday 4th of May.

Nick Coaton said: “We are delighted to have been asked to take part in one of the technical sessions at this year’s OTC which looks at the application of wireless technologies in the industry.

“Our track and trace software OverVu®, uses a combination of RFID and GPS to provide users with an accurate, real time view of assets and equipment throughout the supply chain and is providing our customers with real cost and operational efficiencies by enabling more accurate decision making, asset management and cost control.”

The presentation follows the recent appointment of two new Business Development Managers to meet the growing demand for the solution in the industry and coincides with the launch of a new KPI module in the software.

Designed based on customer feedback, the fully interactive dashboard will allow users to track key performance indicators that have been tailored to the user’s specific operational requirements.

This latest feature builds upon OverVu’s ability to consume data from multiple sources and adds an additional layer of intelligence that allows users to make data driven decisions.

Nick continues: “The demands of the energy industry is constantly evolving, and it is vital that we ensure the continuous development of OverVu. Whether you are an operator, service company or logistics provider, you will now be able to monitor turnaround time, location dwell time and crucially spend related to both rented and company owned equipment in one place and in real time.

“Being able to make operational decisions based on up to date and accurate information will be invaluable in driving efficiencies in the supply chain during a period when it has never been more important to do so.”

The Wireless Communication and Radio Frequency Identifications Technologies Technical Session will take place at OTC on Wednesday 4th of May, 14:00 – 16:30 in room 602. Visit otcnet.org for further details.
