Mick joined Swire Energy Services at our Heysham base 32 years ago, at this time the only service provided was the hire of CCU’s. Mick has seen Swire grow from strength to strength and been at the forefront of many changes over the decades. Mick’s knowledge and passion for the organisation has allowed him to build up the Heysham base which now provides numerous services such as testing and inspection, recertification and hire and supply of lifting equipment to name a few. Mick’s approach embodies the vision of being the easiest company to work with and Mick team are seen as one of the go to teams in Heysham to get jobs done whatever the size. Mick has also developed the offering outwith Oil and Gas and his team have developed testing and inspection services for the offshore wind market and even supported a client who was building frames for one of the nightingale hospitals during the Covid-19 outbreak in early 2020. Mick’s innovative approach has seen him develop initiatives and procedures which have been implemented across other Swire bases, demonstrating the value Mick adds to the company. As Base Manager Mick is responsible for the day to day operation of Swire’s facilities in Heysham and Great Yarmouth and works with our strategic partners in Holland. Some of his duties include prioritising requirements and maintaining a good service to customers, quality management, HSE and environmental. Mick’s commitment to Swire sees him hoping to expand Heysham into more onshore locations and further offshore windfarm work. Mick’s mission is to try and grow the Great Yarmouth base, recreating the same service culture as Heysham. He is exploring different options to ensure efficiency and customer excellence which ensures Swire remain the easiest company to work with.
