Michelle's Story
"I joined Swire Energy Services Nig Limited in October 2011 as a fresh university graduate looking for something to get by. I was offered an opportunity at Swire Energy Services Nig. Ltd. (then Prime Leasing West Africa Ltd.) to relieve an employee at the reception where my main duties were to welcome visitors and take calls. By a sheer twist of fate, the job was confirmed and made permanent. After a few years, I was reassigned to the position of Non-Fleet Procurement Officer, where I learnt how the procurement process works. In June of 2018, I was appointed the HSEQ Supervisor for Nigeria, where I supported the implementation of procedures to keep employees and visitors safe. Just last year, the team achieved 4,000 days LTI-free status in addition to various awards and commendations from the SES Group, customers, and governmental regulatory agencies.
"Today, as the HSEQ Manager for Nigeria and West Africa, I look back on my career development and growth as a testament to the fact that Swire Energy Services is an excellent training ground for anyone who dares to dream. In all my 12 years of employment, I have enjoyed the support of management, cordial relationships with my colleagues, and a good work-life balance, as evidenced by the fact that despite my workload, I have enough time to fulfil my roles as a wife and mom and contribute my best to my community.
