Michael's Story

My career with Swire Energy Services began June 2009, and I have been fortunate to climb up through the ladder within the Operations department. I started as a Maintenance Operative and worked for two years in that role. With the support of SES, I got the requisite training to become a certified NDT/lifting Inspector. In 2011, I was appointed to the role of an NDT Inspector/Test Engineer, where I worked for two years and later became the Lead NDT Inspector for another two years. In that role, I was responsible for ensuring that the NDT Inspector/Test Engineers’ and Compliance Coordinator’s reports were interpreted correctly, and the results evaluated with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications.

Thereafter, I was promoted to the role of Operations Supervisor, where I served for two years with the responsibility of supporting the Operations Management Team, in the management of the key processes required to ensure a Safe, Efficient & Cost-Effective Operations. I currently serve as the operations Manager, where I have spent the last eight years in ensuring that the key operational objectives are meet for the business needs in Nigeria.

My 15 years at SES have been awesome, I have enjoyed working in different roles and, had the opportunity to learn from many role models. I am happy to be a part of this great organization and look forward to greater opportunities in future.

Michelle's Story

I joined Swire Energy Services Nig Limited in October 2011 as a fresh university graduate looking for something to get by. I was offered an opportunity at Swire Energy Services Nig. Ltd. (then Prime Leasing West Africa Ltd.) to relieve an employee at the reception where my main duties were to welcome visitors and take calls. By a sheer twist of fate, the job was confirmed and made permanent. After a few years, I was reassigned to the position of Non-Fleet Procurement Officer, where I learnt how the procurement process works. In June of 2018, I was appointed the HSEQ Supervisor for Nigeria, where I supported the implementation of procedures to keep employees and visitors safe. Just last year, the team achieved 4,000 days LTI-free status in addition to various awards and commendations from the SES Group, customers, and governmental regulatory agencies.

Today, as the HSEQ Manager for Nigeria and West Africa, I look back on my career development and growth as a testament to the fact that Swire Energy Services is an excellent training ground for anyone who dares to dream. In all my 12 years of employment, I have enjoyed the support of management, cordial relationships with my colleagues, and a good work-life balance, as evidenced by the fact that despite my workload, I have enough time to fulfil my roles as a wife and mom and contribute my best to my community.

I look forward to a continually fruitful and peaceful career in SESNL, knowing that together we will keep doing great things.

Iain's Story

Initially playing my part in the global oil & gas commercial team I started working at Swire in 2017 and held various commercial positions across our Group function and the UK Business Unit. I played an integral part of writing the company’s diversification business plan into offshore wind and am now part of the team executing and delivering that business plan.

My 5 years at Swire have been rewarding and I’ve had the opportunity to learn from many great people. It’s great to work for a company that puts so much value on not only being a good corporate citizen through initiatives such as our sustainability policy, but value’s it’s people highly and provides the platform to learn, grow and succeed.

As our journey through the energy transition progresses, Swire Energy Services really is a company you can vision having a career with and I personally, am happy to be playing my part in our journey and looking forward to the next 10 years of opportunities.

Amaka's Story

My career with Swire Energy Services started in 2011 as a Receptionist and I’ve been fortunate to hold various positions across different departments. I worked as a receptionist for four months, after which I was drafted into the Finance department as a Credit Control Executive for one year. I was later transferred to the Commercial department, where I have spent the last eight years as a Customer Service Representative. In this position I have played an integral role in the development and rollout of the company’s ERP system (Microsoft AX Dynamics) as a super user for the customer service function. I now currently serve as the Group Sustainability Analyst where I am assisting the Group Sustainability Manager to meet the sustainability objectives of SES.

My eleven years working at SES have made me a better person, and I have met and worked with a lot of wonderful people. I feel lucky to work for an organisation that values their employees by putting safety first, whilst also honouring the core Swire values. I am happy to be a part of this great organisation and look forward to greater opportunities to grow and develop at SES.
