Project Overview

Swire Energy Services U.S land division based in Midland, Texas recently supported service company, Sage Rider, with a number of mobile air compressors and generators. All of the rental units were fitted with GPS tags and supported with SwiresOS tracking solution, OverVu Track and Trace. The benefits of OverVu came into full effect when one of the rental units was stolen from the job site during an active project.

Key Challenges

- Required a mix of equipment including compressors and generators on a temporary bases, for immediate use.

- Due to remoteness of the work areas the client needed a reliable and efficient way to track and monitor their operational assets.

Solution Provided

After reviewing the client requirements Swire Energy Services proposed a rental package of mobile air compressors and generators to support the immediate equipment requirements and remote work site.

Alongside the equipment rental, OverVu Track and Trace was introduce to help assist the client with tracking and overview monitoring of the assets so that they would have visibility of their rental units across the geographically remote areas of the Permian Basin.

A full training program was provided to help support the client's utilization of the key features and functionalities of OverVu including zone and alert creation, asset reporting history and intuitive search capabilities coupled with integrated list and map views.

OverVu Benefits Realised

During a routine check of the rental equipment the client discovered that one of the compressors had been stolen from the job site. On logging into the OverVu system, they were able to identify the missing unit and track the equipment movements through the system and identified its current location. The unit was safely recovered and the evidence OverVu provided aided the client in ensuring quick recovery and minimization of down time and losses.
